Donabate Post Primary School, Co. Dublin

The school site is located in close proximity to the Rogerstown and Broadmeadow estuaries which provide inspiration for the external design and uses/activities.

The design provides for the development of formal and informal sports through the provision of a hockey/football pitch and multi-use sports pitches. The internal courtyard design supports informal play/social interaction as well as containing a supervised area as part of the SNU. Estuarine grasses were used to create sculptural habitats and wildlife areas, while synthetic surfacing incorporating grass mounds within the courtyard provides for flexible uses.
