Ashford Castle, Co. Mayo
Ashford Castle is set in 350 acres on the shores of Lough Corrib and dates back to 1228. The estate currently contains mature woodland, a championship golf course, walled and formal gardens and an equestrian centre. The recent refurbishment of the hotel included improvements to the estate including the equestrian centre.
The proposals for the equestrian centre and associated infrastructural elements were carefully conceived to retain and enhance the character of the Castle and grounds. Trekking routes within the grounds were also developed sympathetically to avoid removing any existing trees.
